Understanding Workers’ Compensation in Alberta

Most Alberta workers don’t think about Workers’ Compensation until something goes wrong — but understanding how the process works, knowing what coverage is available, and learning about best practices can reduce a lot of stress and confusion down the road.

This free public legal education workshop from the Workers’ Resource Centre walks Albertans through everything they need to know about Workers’ Compensation before they ever need to use it: how the WCB works, who qualifies, what to do immediately after a workplace injury or illness, how to file a claim, and what benefits you may be entitled to.

Understanding your rights before you need them can make all the difference.

If you need support with an initial claim for workers’ compensation, please contact us. We are unable to support with appeals for denied WCB claims, however, you can contact the Appeals Commission for Alberta Workers’ Compensation for assistance.

Disclaimer: This workshop is intended for informational purposes only. It should. The information provided is current as of April 10, 2026. Always check with the Workers’ Compensation Board of Alberta to get the most up-to-date information about workers’ compensation in Alberta.
